Los Angeles, CA, USA, 2-3/1-2007

Have used the last two days here in Los Angeles to get things fixed. Now everything is in order I think. I have bought locks for the bike and spare parts and also gotten a new mobile cell phone, so now I am again possible to get hold on.

Most of my things I have bought over at the Hollywood area. It is a bit difficult in the beginning to find the different stores but when you get to know the area, it is not that difficult to get around. But you need a car or a motorbike.

The first day (the 2'nd) I used Erlends car. I was a bit anchious in the beginning, but then I thought it could not be worse than driving in Bergen (Norway), and I think driving in Los Angeles is quite easy. Especially if you have checked where you are going on yahoo maps or something in advance.

Yesterday I finally got the insurance sorted out. After having called a lot of different companies that never called me up again I went over to a motorcycle dealer and service center called Honda of Hollywood to check out if they had parts for Scotty in stock. There I met Fernando, the service manager, which is a very helpful guy. He recommended me to go to one of the local insurence brokers and ask for an insurance. I contacted a company called Mh Insurance Sales which is located just some blocks from Honda of Hollywood and then I got the insurance without any problems.

Yesterday night I had a little walk in the neighbour hood of Erlend and Beth. It is a lot of the neighbours that have decorated with lights in different colours for Christmas. I have taken some pictures, but it is difficult to get the colors right with the camerea.

Today I went to Hollywood on Scotty. I went to Fernando and he had a look at the tachometer and found out that it had to be replaced. I plan to have that done when I am back in Los Angeles since it would take 4 days to get it, and I am very keen on going south now.

I plan go go quite early to San Diago. There I am going to meet Mike that will help me to replace the doo on Scotty. For those that are not familiar with Mike or EagleMike he is the one that produces the doohickeys to the KLR's and I really look forward to meet him. I think it will be a bit like meeting the Santa Chlause for Scotty. For me it will be like meeting the KLR king.
